According to my calendar (and by Calendar I mean age) today marks my 26th Valentine’s Day experience. Scratch that! Today is the 8th Valentine’s since I became “aware” of what all the fuss was about on this day. It’s 1:00 p.m and so far, this day is turning out to be like all the other 7 Valentine’s before it.
They say the best things in life are free. Just in case you need me to reiterate a few of these things…here you go: a smile, oxygen, a hug, a kiss, laughter, being grateful and a whole bunch of things that won’t cost a dime. People always get caught up in their lives and the unavoidable problems of life that they more often than not forget to be grateful for the basic things in life or count their blessings.
So….I’ve been MIA! Don’t say it! I know. (rolls eyes and smiles) Thanks Felicia! Well it happens even to the best of them. Just ask Wole Soyinka about that time…You know what? Forget it! He probably won’t even remember. He’s such a genius he will write you a poem about “When life takes over” rather than narrate any time in his life when the “creative juices” just weren’t flowing because the mind was crowded or distracted. We get carried away by our daily struggles that we lost touch with our creativity. I’ve tried to coin the perfect words to a perfect article that screams “She’s back” and well.. let’s say I’ve found it but first, let me tell you about my away time.
